Amir opportunely started his western education in Harbo Sabuwa  village, Jahun Local Government of Jigawa State. He had his primary and secondary education at his village, Harbo Central Primary and Government Day Secondary School Harbo, respectively. Thereafter, he proceeded to study English and Literature at Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa (formerly Jigawa State University), where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in English .

In 2019, Amir served and performed the compulsory 1-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme at Federal Government College Billiri, Gombe State, up to October 2020. During that period, he worked with a non-governmental organisation, Educating Nigerian Girls in New Enterprises (ENGINE) , with affiliation to the Mercy Corps humanitarian organisation in Gombe State. Prior to national service, he founded Habobes LTD in 2019 after he had finished university before delving into his professional career

Muhammad started his media career since he was at the undergraduate level when he volunteered as a writer in different national media houses, including DailyTrust , Blueprint , Vanguard, and other local media stations. He then went into private practice as a journalist, starting his professional career at Sawaba Radio Hadejia, where he is working as a multimedia journalist. Amir first ventured into blogging in 2012. He became an active blogger in 2014 using a blogger primary (sub-domain) amirharbo.blogspot.com and later obtained his domain www.amirharbo.com.

Amir is part of the people that created 24clan , which massively transformed the youth of Northern Nigeria into information technology a decade ago. Apart from the certificate of computing (DIT) he bagged, he is also part of the ICT Resource Training Programme that took place in Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi, Bauchi State, by the Northeast Development Commission  (NEDC) in 2021.

Amir Muhammad was the coordinator of the first annual medical outreach held at Harbo Sabuwa town, whereby more than one thousand people, comprising mostly women, children, and the elderly, benefitted from the Unik Impact Foundation/NMA annual medical outreach. [15] [16]

Amir has come across a number of prominent and influential politicians (locals and nationals), intellectuals, diplomats, historians, and many leaders in Nigeria and other countries in the world, especially when he was doing his internship at the National Assembly sponsored by the Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre (PLAC) with the support from the European Union (EU) in Nigeria.

Some of his engagements and encounters include the past and present governors, senators, chairmen, party elders, and other notable people such as Sule Lamido, Badaru Abubakar, Ibrahim Hassan, Inuwa Kashifu Abdullahi, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Isah Ali Ibrahim Pantami, and Kashim Shettima.

He also met with high-profile personalities such as Prof. Ruqayyah Ahmed Rufa'i, the former minister of education of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; former Comptroller General (CG) of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Muhammed Babandede , and Sagir Musa Ahmad, the former Director of the US Embassy in Nigeria, among others. In 2020, he writes about Shehu Shagari, who seems to him to be a model for many Nigerian youth. He said, "Nigerian youths can find lessons from the lives of the likes of the Balewas, Awolowos, Azikwes, and Shagaris, who have all gone for good.

As a youth activist and writer, he writes a lot on literature, politics, social development, language, and many more. His activism is becoming stronger, and one of his wishes is to partner with any non-governmental organisations, government, and individuals to initiate a programme that will curb unemployment, drug abuse, community violence, thuggery, insecurity, and other societal menaces bedevilling people around the globe so as to have prosperous, sound, and healthy environments all over the world.
