Kolmani  :(Fulani: kolmaani or kolmanu) meaning the calf is for Manu is a village in Bauchi, State under Alkaleri Local Government,in the north of the area in northeast Nigeria Bauchi. And the Administrative center of Bauchi State, and also Kolmani is situated nearby to the villages Maimadi and Burari. Kolmani Gaji Mari, Maimadi, Also situated close to the villages Gabchari and Shulto, Alkaleri, Bauchi State, Nigeria. The newly discovered Kolmani Oil and Gas field may soon become a reason for worry in the Northern region of the country, as Bauchi and its neighbouring Gombe States have started laying claims to the ownership of the oil wells.

This comes barely two weeks after President Muhammadu Buhari inaugurated oil exploration at the Kolmani oil field by the NNPC and its joint venture partners. Kolmani in North-East Nigeria reportedly has oil in commercial quantities with Oil Prospecting Licences 809 and 810, cutting across Kolmani One, Two, Three, Four and Five. Kolmani-oil-well Speaking during the event, Buhari disclosed that the project has attracted over $3bn investments so far.

The president said, “We are pleased with the current discovery of over 1b barrels of oil reserves and 500 billion Cubic Feet of Gas within the Kolmani area and the huge potential for more deposits as we intensify exploration efforts.

The town came into prominence after the discovery of a Crude oil reserve of over 1 billion barrels and 500 billion cubic feet of gas[1] .

Before the discovery of Crude oil in Kolmani, the economy of the town heavily relied on Agriculture. The inhabitants grow mostly Maize, Millet, Groundnut, Bambaranut, Beans etc. As natural of all Fulani settlements, they also raise Cattles, Goats, and other domestic animals.

After the discovery of crude oil in the area, there are plans to build an oil refinery with a capacity of 0.12 Mb/d, a gas processing unit, a power plant and a fertilizer factory according to the president During it's first phase, the well is expected to produce 50,000 barrels of oil per day, partners begin development of 1bn barrels Kolmani oil field As the exploitation started, the optimistic residents of the town demand jobs, clean environment, and the establishment of schools and other institutions to train the Indigenes in the petrochemical sector[[1]]

Kolmani town consists of many villages and settlements. The main ethnic group in the area are the Fulani and the most spoken language is Fulfulde language. The inhabitants have been living together peacefully for hundreds of years. With the industrialization of the area, it is expected that the population of the town will grow exponentially attracting people of various cultural and religious backgrounds.
