English: "The farmhouse of the Abu Laban family, prosperous Palestinian orange growers, near Petah Tivka. On 15 August 1947 the house was attacked and blown up by the Haganah, the official Zionist military organisation. Twelve occupants, including a mother and six children, were killed. The Palestinians had been quiescant since 1939, and this first majot post-World War II terrorist attack by the Haganah was an ominous harbinger of later developments. The Haganah was under the command of David Ben-Gurion."
