Basiru VP Mahoney lauya ne, ɗan siyasa kuma alƙalin kasar Gambiya wanda ya yi aiki a matsayin Babban Lauyan kasar Gambiya daga ranar 27 ga watan Agustan shekarar 2014 zuwa ranar 9 ga watan Janairun shekarata 2015. Ya taba zama Babban Lauya da Sakataren Shari'a tsakanin watan Mayu na shekarar 2013 zuwa watan Agustan shekarar 2014 da kuma Alkalin Babbar Kotun tsakanin shekara ta 2009 Zuma shekarar 2013. Basiru Mahoney a yanzu haka yana Alkalin Kotun daukaka kara ta Gambiya.[1][2]

Basiru Mahoney an haife shi a Cape Point, Gambiya kuma ya yi karatun firamare da sakandare a Marina School Banjul da Gambiya High School. Bayan kammala karatunsa na 'O' sai ya tafi Ingila inda ya yi karatun koyar da sana'oi na Bar kuma ya cancanci zama Barista a Ingila da Wales sannan daga baya ya koma Gambiya a shekara ta 2002.

Basiru Mahoney ya tsunduma cikin harkar sirri a Gambiya kafin nadin nasa a matsayin Alkalin Kotun Majistare. Daga baya za a daga shi zuwa Babbar Kotun a shekara ta 2009 kuma ya yi aiki a can har zuwa lokacin da aka nada shi a matsayin Babban Lauya a watan Mayu 2013. A cikin garambawul a watan Agustan 2014 an nada shi Babban Atoni Janar da Ministan Shari'a, mukamin da ya rike har zuwa Janairun shekara ta 2015. Basiru Mahoney a halin yanzu Alkalin kotun daukaka kara ne, na Gambiya.

A shekara ta 2010 biyo bayan korafe-korafen cin hanci da rashawa da kuma rashin nuna gaskiya game da rabon filaye a kasar, Shugaba Yahya Jammeh ya nada Basiru Mahoney ya shugabanci kwamitin Shugaban kasa da ke bincike kan rabon filaye a Gambiya. Hukumar ta saurari shaidar jama’a na tsawon watanni 7 kuma ta gabatar da rahotonta ga Shugaban kasa a ranar 23 ga Yunin shekara ta 2011. Binciken ya bankado yadda aka siyar da filaye ba bisa ka'ida ba kuma hakan ya haifar da gagarumin garambawul a tsarin rabon filaye a kasar Gambiya.[3][4][4][5][6]
