Benedict Saul McCarthy (an haife shi a ranar 12 ga watan Nuwambar shekara ta 1977), kocin ƙwallon ƙafa ne na Afirka ta Kudu kuma tsohon ɗan wasa wanda koci ne na farko a Manchester United . A baya ya yi aiki a matsayin babban kocin ƙungiyar AmaZulu ta Afirka ta Kudu .[1][2]

Tsohon ɗan wasan gaba, McCarthy shi ne ɗan wasan Afrika ta Kudu wanda ya fi kowa zura ƙwallo a raga da ƙwallaye 31.[3] Shi ne kuma ɗan Afirka ta Kudu ɗaya tilo da ya lashe gasar zakarun Turai ta UEFA, inda ya yi haka da Porto a 2003–04 .

McCarthy an haife shi ne a Cape Town kuma ya girma a Hanover Park a cikin Cape Flats,[4] yanki da ya shahara saboda yawan rashin aikin yi da tashin hankalin ƙungiyoyi. Shi ɗan Dudley ne da Dora McCarthy kuma yana da 'yan'uwa biyu da kanwa. Babban ɗan'uwansa shi ne Jerome McCarthy,[5] tsohon ɗan wasan ƙwallon ƙafa wanda ya taka leda a Kaizer Chiefs da Manning Rangers, a tsakanin sauran ƙungiyoyi, yayin da ƙanensa Mark ya buga ƙwallon ƙafa a Jami'ar Franklin Pierce a Amurka. McCarthy ya fara wasa a wani yanki da ake kira Young Pirates, wanda kawun nasa ke gudanarwa. Daga nan sai ya shiga tsarin samari na wani kulob na son jama'a da ake kira Crusaders. Yana da shekaru 17, ya sanya hannu a ƙungiyar rukuni na farkon taurari Bakwai.[6]
